Year four brings record entries

Top women's wrestlers off to strong starts

Returning runner-up Vanessa Oswalt of Ohio won 11-0 over Florida's Leila Maloff in the A Pool at 148. In the B Pool, Amberlee Ebert of Wisconsin scored a fall at 1:34. ... Jessica Jauck of California also won her first match by fall at 128 over Shannon Griffin of West Virginia. ...

Tough weight
Cheylenne Pringe of Minnesota, a World Team Trials challenge tournament runner-up, and New York's Nicole Darrow highligh the A Pool at 119. In the B Pool, Texas' LeAnn Barney and Tatiana Padilla are solid.

Chase back down
After struggling to make weight at the U.S. Nationals and moving up to 112 at the World Team Trials, Illinois' Caityln Chase is down at 110. Chase, a U.S. Nationals Senior level runner-up and returning Junior champion started off with a quick fall in her opening round match against Florida's Tara Bone. California's Katherine Fulp-Allen is also in the pool. Fulp-Allen's sister, Sara Fulp-Allen, beat Chase in the U.S. Nationals championship bout in Las Vegas in April.
