GA for Women & Men's Wrestling Teams
Wayland Baptist University is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the Women & Men’s Wrestling Teams.
A bachelor’s degree is required. Previous college wrestling and/or coaching experience is recommended. Duties include but are not limited to: Retention and recruitment of student athletes; Assist in daily planning of team training and conditioning; Ensure academic compliance with all university and NAIA policies and procedures; Assist with monitoring academic progress and eligibility.
Currently the university has the only intercollegiate wrestling program in the state of Texas. Each year the programs have improved placing higher at the national tournament. Most recently the women placed 8th by having 3 All-Americans & the men placed 16th by having 2 All-Americans with one who made the finals. Both teams were invited to compete in the 2014 NWCA Nationals Duals.
This position would pay a stipend, partial tuition, and possibly housing. It would be a great opportunity for somebody that wants to gain a lot of experience at a high level of competition in a program that is well supported by the school.
